#201 Quet
Username: kathichan1
Character Name: Quet
Stage Name: The High Flyers
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Experiment Number: #201
Faction (and Expertise): Quet is a member of the Aerials. With his sister, he acts as one of the trapeze artists for the circus.
Mutation: Quetzal hybrid. Due to having only wing feathers from the elbow down, Quet cannot fully fly unlike his sister but can manage to glide for a short while if he jumps from a high enough point. He also has the signature tail feathers of the Quetzal, which are about a meter and a half long. Being a bird, he also has hollow bones and talon-like nails which he tries to keep to a reasonable length and sharpness in order not to accidentally skewer someone. His eyes are slightly enlarged, and allow him to see better in the dark than an ordinary human can. The mutation has also caused him to have slightly more fragile skin than usual, meaning that cuts and scrapes are quite common to him.
Dorm Number: #15
Personality: Quet is a very reticent and calm individual who rarely shows his emotions openly on his face. Many people think of him as antisocial but he actually does enjoy the company of people; he just prefers to listen in to conversations rather than converse himself which means that he’s very up to date with the news and gossip around the circus. Surprisingly, he’s a bit of a prankster and a successful one at that, as his quiet nature usually keeps people from suspecting him of being the culprit. Growing up, he was never in the presence of any females other than his sister so when faced with a person of the opposite gender he becomes flustered to the point of becoming completely silent. Much to his irritation, his sister insists on dragging him along with her whenever she feels the need to interact with others and forces him to translate her words which he does so in the briefest way he can manage.
He takes great pride in his performances, and can usually be found practicing his act in the training rinks when he’s not in class or following his sister around. As an Aerial, Quet feels the most freedom high in the air where he can pretend that he is free from the ever prying eyes of the scientists.
Background: Quet and Zalli were children born as an attempt to merge and alter genetic information before their birth. The two have been in the care/possession and scrutiny of the scientists for as long as the two can remember, and they know no life apart from the one in which they were poked and prodded at every day.
Relationships:
* Zalli: His twin sister.
Trivia:
* When he and Zalli were born, they were connected by their left and right hands respectively. Therefore, Quet has a large scar on his left hand from when they had to be separated.
*He has absolutely no tolerance for spicy food -one bite and he’ll be spitting fire.
*Somehow, he is able to understand his sister when she speaks. He’s not sure how he is able to do so, but suspects that it has to do with them being twins.

#202 Zalli
Username: kathichan1
Character Name: Zalli
Stage Name: The High Flyers
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Experiment Number: #202
Faction (and Expertise): Zalli is a member of the Aerials. She acts as one of the trapeze artists for the circus.
Mutation: Quetzal hybrid. Zalli has developed wings that start from her shoulders, meaning that she is capable of short periods of flight unlike her brother, who can only manage to glide short distances. She has hollow bones and talon like hands and feet, and although her longer claws often get in the way she prefers not to spend too much time in filing them down. Her eyes are slightly enlarged which allow her to see in darker environments. The mutation has caused her skin to become more fragile than most, so she gets cuts and scrapes quite often. She is also incapable of speech as her voice box and tongue have somehow changed to emulate those of the bird, so Zalli is incapable of human speech.
Dorm Number: #20
Personality: Cheerful and exuberant, this easily excitable girl is always bouncing around without a care in the world. She’s highly optimistic and is rarely seen without a bright smile on her face. Much to the irritation of her brother, she is very talkative- even though she is unable to speak. Therefore, she drags along her brother almost everywhere with her and makes him translate for her. Zalli has a tendency to wave her hands around and make hand gestures while trying to communicate, not that it helps much.
She’s also got quite a stubborn streak- it’s near impossible to make her change her mind about a decision without sufficient reason, which tends to irritate those around her. With this stubbornness also comes a fierce determination to always perform to the best of her abilities, in and out of the circus ring.

* She is terrified of bugs.
* Zalli absolutely hates being cold and will always seek out the warmest place she can find.

#555 Yuj
Username: Fellen
Character Name: Yuj
Stage Name: N/A
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Experiment Number: #555
Faction (and Expertise): Currently, Yuj serves as a trainee in the Aerials faction. He aspires to become as qualified as the Head, #058 Willow, when it comes to the tightrope. His progress so far? Not something to shout out about, that’s for sure. He previously tried out as a chatterbox Zany in the first half of his circus career, but there were too many things wrong with this idea: the screams of the audience overwhelmed his mutation, his speech defect was a complete nuisance and he had (and still has) no public-speaking skills whatsoever. The only thing he learned from his Zany days was the ability to unicycle and juggle – not together, mind you, he’s not that coordinative.
Mutation: His mutation was created when the scientists meddled with his brain – a side-effect of that being his amnesia to everything prior his lab days – as they wanted to improve his memory. The experiment was ultimately successful… in one area only: speech.
Read him a five-hundred page novel? He will remember it word for word. Spout all your worries and cry your heart out to him? He will remember it word for word. Give him a two-hour speech to listen to? He will remember it word for word – if he hasn’t fallen asleep first. The memorising process comes naturally to him (chronologically, too), but it’s not without flaws. If he’s listening to three different people speak in conjunction, his brain will become too confused to function and shut down temporarily – leading to a black-out. To counter this, he often wears silicone earplugs in crowded areas. His mutation is also a reason as to why he considered being an Aerial. Sure he may have a slight case of acrophobia, but at least the noise is a lot milder.
He often has to go through a weekly checkup by the scientists in order to ensure that his brain isn't completely overloaded with information. The mutation seems to be developing well, but they worry that the mutation might entirely reset its files sooner or later...
Dorm Number: #15
Appearance: Yuj is quite the unique sight to see what with his messy, tyrian purple hair and mismatching red and grey eyes. He never really lays as much as a finger on his hair unless it is in need of a wash, and hence he is rather prone to walking down the hallways looking like he had just woken from a rough night’s sleep. His eyes, on the other hand, are a topic that he tends to avoid. He has a habit of blinking and evading eye contact in order to deter attention away from the strange colouring of his irises. He also likes to wear caps in order to shield them, but the scientists have confiscated such accessories as they consider his eyes as ‘precious little gems’. That’s about it for Yuj’s divine features, though (save for the fact that he’s a peach-skinned halfie; but, Yuj would prefer not to dwell upon stereotypes and unstable rumours). His figure is that of a stick’s – thin, scrawny and almost fragile-looking. This gives the first impression that Yuj is all bone and no muscle, but Yuj certainly has the stamina to out-run a cheetah and the wit to knock out the same cheetah with… no, forget it. He’s not very witty, but he can certainly run on a lot of adrenalin.
The poor boy is a bit on the short side – okay, actually make that quite a whole lot on the short side. You don’t want to let him catch you saying that though, he’s extremely sensitive about it. The only thing smaller than his size is his ability to trust people, but more on that later.
Personality: So Chicken Little is a fast runner, so is Yuj. So Chicken Little can hit hard with a bat, so can Yuj. So Chicken Little is pretty darn little, well, yes, that's Yuj. See the connection yet? Good.
That’s right, Yuj is probably the most paranoid person you will ever meet. He truly believes in the most silliest of stories, including tales of: the Bloody Mary, the Grim Reaper, the Beldam… and heck, he’s even frightened himself with lies about Santa Clause. From small hoaxes to larger chain mails, and even alien existence, Yuj will most likely fall for any ghost story. He isn’t even diagnosed with mania! Sure, he may appear to have some schizophrenic-like attacks now and then where he leads himself to believe that the world is out to kill him, but Yuj is far from entering the mental asylum… for now. What can I say? He’s a wimp and he knows it. In fact, he often gets dreadful bags under his eyes due to a growing insomnia. “It’s not just the nightmares,” he says. “What if they get me in my sleep? I don’t want to die like that.”
Disregarding his idiocy and the fact that he may be a bit hysterical when it comes to trust (wait, did I say a bit? I mean: he is so hysterical in such a dramatically large quantity that the English language cannot possibly contain his irrational fear in such a petty amount of words), Yuj is generally one of the nicest pieces of scum that you will ever meet. Considerate and reliable are only two points that make this kid a good friend; although he may have a touch of sarcasm implanted in him, it's easily countered by his habit of easily becoming embarrassed.
Background: Unbeknownst to Yuj, in his former life he would’ve been gifted with one of the most loving mothers in the entire universe… if it weren’t for the fact that she was young at the time of pregnancy. Being a victim of rape after (accidental) severe intoxication, abortion seemed to be the only option for her. If it hadn’t been for the scientists, Yuj would have most likely ceased to exist right there and then. Of course, due to their experiments, Yuj doesn’t get to remember any of this.
Relationships:
* Yuj has an extreme kid’s crush on the Head of the Aerials. After running as a complete failure in the Zany department, Yuj attempted to seek refuge elsewhere – and that’s when he stumbled upon Willow. The first time he entered the training room for the Spec-dolls and Aerials, he wasn’t ensnared by the glorious out-looks of the dancers. He wasn’t interested in the bird-like acrobats either, nor the overly bubbly trampoline experts for that matter. No… it was most definitely the dragonfly tightrope walker that captured his eyes. Her bravery, her unique appearance, her dedication to her expertise… all of that, he absorbed. Over time, after watching her performances and sneaking glances during training he fell head over heels for her. Many tend to call it a kid’s crush, and it probably is, but Yuj refuses to take that bait. He hasn’t spoken a single word of his feelings to Willow, but it is plain obvious to almost everyone that he likes her more than anyone else. Honestly, what kind of kid counts the days in which the Head of the Aerials openly speaks to him?
Trivia:
* He’s not a very good reader as of yet, but he enjoys attending Soel’s story-telling groups and memorising the stories. He imagines that he would make a good historian of some sorts, one day.
* He has a semi-strong lisp, a trait about him that tends to get him under the bullying radar. So, naturally, he utterly hates it. He has been attempting to fix it by the way of ‘practice makes perfect’, but it’s not a habit he’s committed to doing. In front of others, he may lower his voice when hitting a word that may bring out his lisp… but if it does come out he will automatically bite his tongue as a form of self-punishment.
* He has come to the conclusion that the number five is an extremely unlucky number.
