Username: Kayya
Character Name: Knox
Stage Name: Skipper
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Experiment Number: #100
Faction (and Expertise): Zanies; Magic.
Mutation: Since Knox was young, his larynx was operated on quite frequently throughout the years to make way for a (flawless) ability of voice imitation. A simple but easy crowd-pleaser, his voice can range from the highest of pitches to the lowest, with accents all around the world. After countless of sessions run to the point of losing his voice, Knox can effortlessly, perfectly mimic all sorts of tones and inflections up to a rather long time - another longer, and he loses his voice - though afterwards, he takes comfort in many soothing throat lozenges. Knox's "normal" voice is a low tenor, a tad on the husky side.
Dorm Number: #03
Appearance: Strip away all his flamboyant make-up and costumes, and one would be almost disappointed to say that Knox really just looks like your average teenage boy - nothing special which makes him stand out from everyone else. With no features which make him particularly appealing nor repelling, he's crudely ordinary. He has a boyish cuteness to him, and could be considered handsome... though in a somewhat plain, non-striking way. With no stunning features to equal his dynamic personality, Knox is of simple looks: with coarse, lacklustre blonde hair, caramel eyes, and an athletic physique. At a height of 5'5"/165cm, he's a bit on the short side: a topic he is sore about, but tolerates reasonably. To make up for his shortness, however, he over-compensates with his larger-than-life personality.
Personality: Odd, a little peculiar, and yes - "zany"; Knox has a free-spirited, fun-lovin' disposition, and no other faction really would've done his exuberant spirit justice. Animated, abstract and highly creative, Knox is humorous and witty, brimming with charm and charisma. A natural smooth-talker, he excels in getting people's rapt attention and winning hearts wherever he goes - and he's more than conscious of this fact. With an adoration for attention and affection, Knox basks in the limelight and is used to circus-goers fawning over him, leading to a rather vain and self-centred nature; he gets absurdly pleased whenever compliments and praise directed his way.
Knox has a happy-go-lucky, colourful personality - though physically the epitome of optimal young health, he has a weak rein on his emotions. He dislikes being ridiculed and though doesn't have a big ego, he has a somewhat sensitive one. He takes a bold, audacious, and wickedly mischievous approach to life, often displaying a childish goofiness which make it hard to take him seriously.
All he seems to care about outside the Zanies (his loyalty to them is somewhat admirable) is having fun. Somewhat hedonistic, Knox is extremely lazy, with the only source of motivation for him being good competition. Just as competitive as he is lazy, Knox has an unhealthy thrill for winning; and though not a sore loser, he has gained a compulsion in frequently comparing himself with others. He strongly dislikes hard work in general, though, and tends to put off problems even if the future consequences would be worse.
To put it simply, Knox is a prize brat. He's a bit of a problem child, and has a feisty attitude when it comes to matters he actually cares about: in which, he would proceed to fight tooth-and-nail against you. He lives in the moment and doesn't think before doing anything. In a way, he's perhaps one of the most honest people you'd ever meet, always saying what he means and without a second thought. He's really just a simple-minded, gullible soul; no complications lie within him, and everything is just black-and-white when it comes to Knox. Deviant and sweet-hearted, not much else lies beyond the surface of his personality.
Background: Knox can remember nothing from his past, asides from the torturous, dull sessions of hearing himself talk for hours and the numerous days spent under the knife. He was taken in by the scientists when he was barely a toddler. His real name is indeed Knox, and he was born to a young couple - around the age he is now - who couldn't supply him the means for survival. He was often a rowdy baby, usually screaming/wailing/crying/whatnot, and his unusually strong voicebox which made him ideal for the experiment.
Relationships:
* Lidiya, the Head Spec-doll; though he admits she's quite nice to look at, Knox has loathed her from Day One. What can he say? They're both alpha dogs who like competition. They are always at some sort of unspoken war at each other, trying the best ways to push each other's buttons and get on each other's nerves. Wait a minute - they don't even have to try. Just being in her presence is enough to get a scowl from him. "We're just not meant to get along. She doesn't like me, I don't like her. Why should I even bother to try and make myself likeable to her royal majesty?"
Trivia:
* Within the circus, his name is frequently used in place of the word 'obnoxious' as slang language, though in a good-natured sort of way. A frequent, fond nickname derived from this is "Knoxious."
* Though he has an eloquent tongue, Knox can barely read or write, with the scientists not bothering to deal with his dyslexia.
